What’s new with the GCRB?
Continuing professional development (CPD) is essential in order to maintain and develop professional knowledge and competence and as a means of reviewing new technology and increasing awareness of new developments. Due to the challenges faced by the profession in light of COVID-19 the GCRB has approved changes to the CPD requirements for April 2020 – March 2021 only.
We strongly encourage all applicants and registrants to meet the standard CPD requirements of 30 hours (with 15 hours external). The GCRB will not limit online learning during this time. For individuals who are unable to fulfil the required 30 hours of CPD they will need to submit a reflective 500-word piece. This will need to demonstrate clear learning outcomes and implications for practice. It can be concerning any area of learning over the past 12 months.
If the reflective comments are not adequate the applicant will be asked to amend their CPD before the CPD log can be approved.
